Changes for 2015

A lot has happened this year, I have a beautiful one year old daughter who keeps me busy and a wonderful boyfriend that refuses to give up on me. I've realized i am struggling with my own passions in life and my photography business.  I will be making a few changes in 2015, there are so many photographers out there these days and I always used to snarl when I saw a "newbie", But it's time for me to move on and start shooting the things I truly love.  As some of you know, there is another side to Photos By Connie, called Photos By Connie|afterdark. That is more my style and what I want to dive further into.  I've been wanting to do this for a while, I guess I was afraid of what everyone would think of me, considering how small of a town we live in. After consulting with a few friends, I will be slowly leaning that way, I just need to figure out how to integrate my two passions.  I'm hoping I won't scare everyone off and still have a clientele.

Just to clarify I will still be shooting Families & Weddings
Growing always comes with change.
Thank you all for the support

Everyone's a photographer

The great photographer Ansel Adams once said that “twelve significant photographs in any one year is a good crop”.  Its all to easy now, anyone with a digital camera has the ability to review and delete unwanted pictures meant we all started hammering the shutter button with crazy abandon with the attitude that for every 10 shots at least one would probably be half decent. Everywhere I look I see a “new” photographer, as exciting as it may be to start your own business, It makes it challenging for those who are already established and a bit frustrating when you see an ad that say $65 for 30 photos. I admit myself I did start this way but it took me a year to finally get started, licensed and the confidence to say I am ready to run my own business and work hard to keep it.

This is a competitive business…yes!, but is the quality there? You pay for what you get, and I’m not saying I am the best but it has been 4 years of hard work to get where I am at.

I am grateful for the business I have received and grateful for my loyal clients that keep coming back. I myself still have a lot to learn and as the years go on, I evolve into a better photographer. I have been published in numerous magazines and have had my work showcased in a few galleries.

All I am trying to say is, when looking for a photographer please consider their experience and quality of work.
