I wanted to share what I was thankful for. The last two years have been really hard for me and I have been through the ringer. I separated from my children's father of 8 years and became a single parent, left a job of 7 years and not by choice, lost my mom and my cat who I had for 14 years. I have been in therapy for a year and a half and I have learned so much about myself. I'm not perfect, I get mad a lot and I shut down when I feel I'm being attacked or hurt. I don't know how to communicate and instead of talking, I get quiet. I'm learning how to be the best single parent I can be, and I'm learning how to be vulnerable and raw. Which is the hardest thing I have had to do, next to losing my mom.
Im thankful for my therapist because she not only listens but she has taught me how to work through my struggles and what they mean. She’s an angel in disguise. Im thankful for god giving me another day to live and spend with my children. Im thankful for being able to continue to work through my heartache of losing my mom. She was my everything, my support, my best friend, my nagging mother, and my cheerleader. Im thankful for being strong enough to not let all this spiral me into a deep depression. Im thankful for having work and doing what I love. Having a home, having family that loves me, kids that are active and healthy, a car to get around in and awesome weather! We sometimes forget what we have while were whining about the things we WISH we had. Remember to be thankful for what is right in front of you because you can lose it all without warning.

Most people don't understand what a photographer really does. I've spent years honing my craft and improving my skills, but this statement has the amazing ability to wipe it all away and make me look like nothing but a monkey with a magic camera.
Photography is an art, a lot goes into one image. Everything is a factor, lighting, location, camera settings, equipment, lens, clothing, posing, angle even your make up & hair. Lighting is key, if you don't shoot your image and have great lighting your photo can not be saved, no matter how good you are in Photoshop. Here is a before and after image I took in my clients home. The baby was laid on the couch and they had huge windows that let in a lot of natural light. Then came the editing.....exposure was adjusted, white balance, color, skin color, cloning, dodging and a whole lot more.......words that you probley don't really understand. All my images are hand edited meaning I don't just click on a button and wala! |
