What to expect on your Wedding Day|Frequently asked questions

Every bride is nervous in some sort of way on their special day. Things are hectic and you want everything to run smoothly and be perfect.  Well I am here to help you through the roller coaster of emotions you may be feeling. I tend to be more than "just" the photographer, I'm a friend and will assist you in anything you need to make things easier for you as the day goes on.  Here are a few frequently asked questions i receive from new clients.

  1. How long have you been shooting weddings?  Since 2012
  2. Do you have full coverage liability insurance? Yes! A lot of wedding venues require me to furnish my certificate of liability which I'm more than happy to provide.
  3. How many photographers will be shooting? Just me!, I have photographed Weddings since 2012 and have never had a second shooter. I make sure to cover all my basis and capture every moment.
  4. Can I give you a list of specific shots we would like? Yes definitely, on your consultation date I will go through the steps of creating a list of your “must-have’s”, then I ask you let me be creative in my own way. After all you did hire me because you love my work and you trust me to create beautiful memories for you.
  5. Is it okay if other people are taking photos while you are taking photos?
This is a VERY important topic to discuss before your wedding. A lot of couples are now choosing to have an unplugged wedding. An unplugged wedding is when you ask your guest to shut off their cameras and phones for the day. There have been instances where a guest steps right in the isle during the kiss and completely blocks my shot, or someones flash mixed with mine totally whites out a room. Now turning them off all-day may be a stretch, but it is so important for the ceremony. The only thing I do require that I'm the only professional photographer at your wedding, besides if you decide to hire a videographer or photo-booth.
  6. What type of equipment do you use? I am a Canon girl! All my equipment is digital.
  7. Do you post the proofs online? No, once I have downloaded your proofs I will go through them and pick out the best ones that represent your special day and highlighted moments so I can edit them. The reason for this is because most photos are either duplicates, bad lighting, people talking or closing there eyes. You will receive anywhere from 60-150 edited files depending on your package. Photos of the wedding party along with the bride & groom will be uploaded to my website so you can order your prints according to your package.
  8. Can I purchase all my photos from the wedding? Yes you can for a fee of $1000 (unedited)
  9. When will my proofs, prints, and wedding album be available? Please allow up to 3-6 weeks for completion.
  10. How would you describe your working style? Modern with some tradition style. I let the couple be themselves so there more relaxed. Some portraits are posed just to give a little bit of that traditional look.
  11. Do you have a portfolio I can review? Are all of the images yours, and is the work recent? You can visit my website @www.conniebarnesphotography.com, all images are owned and copyright by Connie L, Barnes and I update my website with every session.
  12. Do you travel? Yes I do!. I love destination weddings. Travel and lodging is separate and I will work with you the best way I can to stay within your budget.
  13. What information do you need from me before the wedding day?  We will have two meetings, the first one we will go over all wedding packages, policies and deposit requirements, time and place of wedding, guest size and bridal party info. Our second meeting we will talk about the itinerary for the day, portrait schedule and final payment.
  14. What time will you arrive at the site and for how long will you shoot? Depending on your package I will arrive anywhere from 30-45 minutes early and stay according to your contract.
  15. If my event lasts longer than expected, will you stay? You bet! Things happen and I completely understand, my hourly rate is $150 an hour.
  16. Can I customize a package based on my needs? Yes, I have 3 packages to choose from and an A la carte menu that will allow you to add any other products. Special request are available as well, just let me know at the time of your consultation.
  17. How much of a deposit do you require and when is it due? Do you offer a payment plan? Depending on your package your deposit will be anywhere from $150 to $500. Final payment is due one month prior to your wedding date. Payments from the time of booking up to a month before your wedding day are welcome. You must be paid in full before wedding day.
